Hey, It's Okay... 70's Style

I love looking at old wedding pictures and getting a little chuckle at the fashions and fads. So, today we are going to visit the 70's and tell them, Hey it's okay... Now if we could throw a wedding for the same price as a 70's wedding. But, alas we can't but we can save money on our wedding.

So... 1970's it's okay to:

to have the groom wear powder blue.

and it is also ok to have the groom complete his powder blue tux with ruffles... and don't forget the bow tie.

for you brides, shiny shiny satin is always a good choice.

to have your bridesmaid wear different color dress. the rainbow effect is so "IN"

for the bride to wear sandalfoot color pantyhose. we wouldn't want to look pale now...

to wear a halo of flowers instead of a traditional veil. makes everyone think you are a "flower child".

to want to wear a lace shawl, just in case you get cold.

to dance your first dance as a couple to anything Fleetwood Mac.

to have the rest of the reception music be disco.

and lastly, it is ok to drive away to your honeymoon in a shiny Ford.

Cinderella and the Royal Wedding

This has been all over facebook today. And it totally amuses me. Of course William and Kate look like Prince Charming and Cinderella. They are like a fairytale.

But, my favorite part is the poor cousins aka the ugly stepsisters. I'm not saying either of these women are ugly, and I have no clue about their personalities. But, did they have to wear bad hats and the same colors?

Whether your going to have a wedding like Cinderella or like Kate Middelton. Paying for the reception is going to be costly. There are tons of expenses and budgeting is always the best plan. And unfortunately, the rest of us in this world don't have the queen mother to help us pay for it.

Here is a list of ways to save on your wedding too.

Something Old, Something New...

Did you ever wonder where this tradition came from... or what each item signified?

Something old - The something old is supposed to come from a happily married woman. the item is supposed to transfer the luck of the married woman to the new bride.

Something new - This tradition signifies hope for the future. Many brides choose their wedding dress to be their something new.

Something borrowed - Something borrowed has to be something of value or importance. This will guarantee wealth for the future bride.

Something blue - Blue is for the heavens. It signifies love, purity and fidelity.

This tradition is sweet and very easy to partake in. There are many items that are not easy. Paying for a wedding can be the hardest part of this special time. There are ways to cut wedding expenses. And of course sticking to a budget is very important.
